4L80 swap fox body help
Just got a 92 coupe with ls and t56 And I'm looking to go 4l80. I have done some research and was unable to find much information.
Who has done the swap and is there a lot of modifying that needs to be done to get the transmission to fit? If anyone has pics I would love to see them.
I was al unable to find a crossmember for the 4L80... Does anyone sell one or am I going to need to modify my t56 crossmember?
How about the driveshaft? Car has a pst 1000hp driveshaft and I'd like to use it possible, I've read possibly just a yoke swap?

I have been doing the same research, and just posted a similar question on here. What I have found so far is that there are no bolt in crossmembers, as the mounting location on the 4l80 is too far back (I talked to AJE about this question). The general consensus is to move the crossmember tabs back on the frame rails, then either try to use another crossmember, or make one from scratch.
I am going from a 4l60 to a 4l80 so I dont know about a t56, but for me, the driveshaft should work with just a yoke change. Be careful though with the yoke, there are several different yokes for 4l80's, you need to get the right one. There have been a few threads on here that should answer what yoke you need depending on what 4l80 you have.
You will need to clearance the tunnel a decent amount around the main electrical plug, as well as most likely around the trans cooler lines, and the shift lever.
My question is I dont know if the bellhousing needs any hacking.
Anyone who has completed this swap please chime in.

ok it was about 8 years ago! but the 4l80e was a super tight fit, looked like if we moved the motor forward about 1/2" to 3/4" we would have more clearance in the tunnel. never completed it just stayed with the 4l60e. so I'm not sure on what kind of motor mounts you have. I know some are adjustable now, mine where fixed.
