Looking for information for 4x4 ls swap
Hello.
A couple of years ago, I did a 2wd LS swap in a 1999 Dodge Dakota. The build thread is here https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...90-lsdak1.html.
I have had a lot of interest in doing a 4x4 version of this swap, using a 2000 Dodge Durango that has a sadly worn-out Magnum engine.
I am looking for information about the 4x4 versions of LS drivetrains that were available in the 2007 and up Silverado, Sierra.
I want to use GEN IV engine and controller, but I am not sure what transmission and transfer case would be a good fit. It seems that he 6l80/90 transmission was common in these years, but the body of this transmission is pretty big. I am wondering if the 4l60 or 4l80 were still available in these years, and what transfer case comes behind them. I am not finding much information when I search.
Any info would be appreciated.

Casias,
The 4L65 and 4l70 (same case as 4l60) were standard options on the 1500 Silverados and the v-8 trailblazers, envoys, etc. until 2009 when they were all but phased out.
The 4l80 came in all 1500 and 2500 vans until 2011 when they were phased out.
I have swapped quite a few 6.2L L92 motors with 4l70 and 4l80 transmissions using the proper harness and computers.
If you have any questions on specific engine/trans packages, please feel free to check out our website LSX Connection . com
