Hey everybody, I'm working on putting a 5.3 from a 2004 Suburban in my car and trying to do it as inexpensively as possible. I already got the mounts and tranny adapter bought and put on. I dropped the motor in last night for the first time and the exhaust manifolds and oil pan are hitting the crossmember. I know I've read on one of the forums that there are different options for both of these problems but was wondering if anyone had any advise, or had done the same vehicle. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I guess I'm not sure which oil pan I have, whatever came on the suburban. I know it's shallow in the front, but I don't know how many versions there are for this motor. That site looks like another great help!

You need the GM muscle rod oil pan, and some 98-02 fbody headers. Check out this build.

This may be a dumb question, but are there any headers you can buy that would bolt up to the sbc exhaust Instead of buying headers and then sending it to a shop to fit them together?
