Default 2006

I' m looking at putting a 2006 Lq4 and 2wd 4l80e into my 1971 C10.

The owner of the 2006 Lq4 and trans is private party. He states the engine is complete with harness, accessories, MAF, pedal for drive by wire, ecu (does the trans have its own ECU on these years?).

Is there anything else I would need from the donor vehicle?

Also what is good to look at as far as the engine to make sure it is good? He said it ran last week in a vehicle with less then 70K, donor vehicle is not available to look at engine is already pulled.

Should I pull the valve cover to look for the golden brown color on the valve train? what else?

All help is appreciated.

Mods can you change the title to " 2006 Lq4, what to look for in junkyard motor?"

Thank you

Owner should have shot a video of it running a few weeks ago before pulling.. Almost everybody has a freaking camera!!!!

Any who, you also need to get the TAC module and Pedal to Module harness, P2M. The PCM does engine and transmission in 2006.

He said he cant find the vin on the engine PCM. I will look for it when I get there. Is there anywhere else beside the PCM where the VIN is located on the engine? I would like to run the vin through carfax free check to see the last known mileage.

Thanks
