Default running a 6.0 off a 4.8 ecm
just curious, swaping a 5 speed stick into my hd with a 6.0, the trans is coming from a 4.8 truck , curious if I can use the 4.8 ecm with the vats disabled. Or just tune the auto function out of the 6.0 ecm.

What years truck and pcm are you asking about?

Either will work. It would be much simpler to use the 6.0 pcm and just change to a manual trans setting. I believe you may just have to flip the switch and maybe delete the codes so you don`t get a check engine light

And you may have to adjust the computer for the speedo if the new transmission has a different reluctor wheel.

Truck is a 2002 tranny is 2001, can I change these settings with hp tuners? Looking to buy one for other projects, but need to get my hauler fixed.

There is a setting under transmission to change from auto to manual.
