Joining the party late here, but what an awesome project! Especially for father and son. I sold my Chevelle when I got out of school (13 years ago) but have always dreamed of doing a resto-mod DD with another one someday. Many good vibes and jealous stares from this direction. Best of luck with the build!

Korndog,
This is coming together nicely. Any plans on going to a VA A/C system later on to loose the A/C suitcase? Please say you are going to ditch those late 80' rims. LOL This care deserves ALOT better wheels when the budget allows it.

Hey korndawg, those goodies from Dewitts look amazing!
Mind sharing what the dimensions are on the radiator and heat exchanger and ac condensor? I have an LSA/4l80e combo going into a 72 Lemans and would definitely be interested in using a similar setup from dewitts now that you have done the hard part of measuring!

Ill get the dimensions to ya this weekend for sure! DeWitts has prolly been the best company I've ever dealt with as far as quality/support/price goes. Im sure the performance will be just as outstanding. I couldn't be happier.

Man...I am still jealous of this conversion. A LSA would be sweet in my GTO.

We truly live in the golden age of hotrodding. At what other point in time have we ever had the option of 600hp...bolt in...totally reliable...and with a 2 years warranty...unbelievable!!!

Keep up the good work.

Sorry guys. Car hasn't been touched in months. Mom in the hospital after some major heart surgery and now pneumonia. Dad hasn't been feeling well either. Life happened!

Nice work, that car is going to be a blast. Having said that, the highlighted text above is exactly the same thing I thought when I saw the car on the first page. No offense, but I'd be ditching them as well.

********! Lol. Actually considering going up to an 18" rim so I can fit some big brakes on there. What style of rim is good for this decade? I'm not going for slammed G-ride look. Muscle car all the way!

There are a ton of great looking wheels out there. Most important is how much do you want to spend and what tire sizes do you want to run?

I'd say the max in the rear would be a 295.. Falken makes a 295/40-18...great tires and is 27" tall, so it fills the wheel wells. On the front you can run a 255/40-18, which is slightly shorter and gives a nice rake...

Next year those wheels will be the ticket again! I wouldn't worry about the wheels I like them. I think it could use some more tire and maybe a spacer up front but it looks good to me.

Best wishes for your mom and dad. It's hard when they aren't doing so well.

Front wheel/tire def bothers me. I should have gone bigger tire and w a diff backspace.
