Default lt1 to ls3 wiring harness

So I have a 1997 firebird formula with an lt1 in it and I'm doing an lt1 to ls3 engine swap. My question is on the wiring harness, will a harness and computer from a 98 ls1 trans am work for an ls3?

No, you have to either stick to an LT1 engine, or get a stand alone harness for the engine.

Anything is possible, but you are going to have a tough time with the cam and crank sensors. The Cam is 1x on LS1 and 4x on LS3. The Crank is 24 teeth on LS1 and 58 teeth on LS3.

I know that they make a conversion box for the cranks, and I think people are using the early LS2 cam gears that have a 1x cam sensor on the front. You would probably need to use that cam gear and sensor along with a conversion box for the crank. Other than that it should be pretty possible.

Many people have done LS3 swaps on 4th gens.

Oh, and the fuel tables are different for the 98's, so if you are going that far you might as well upgrade to the 99+ ecu's.
