Default Finally got my motor back!

Its been at the rebuilder for about 8 months! Put it on the stand, painted it and did some assembly. Its a 5.3 from a 2001 Silverado. New or reconditioned everything. Comp cams .522in and .529 exh 212in and 218 dur@.050 Builder is guessing high 375 to 400 hp. Its going into my 1971 ElCamino going to use a 4l60e trans. I just have to start collecting more parts. need a fuel tank, headers, electric fans, etc. Was thinking about the new Hooker headers, they look pretty nice. Modified the factory wiring harness and wired up a smaller fuse box.Just need some warmer weather or a garage heater

Very nice. I see you're in Sterling Heights. Who rebuilt it if I may ask?

The motor was built by Bob Pepsin at Racing Research Inc in Clinton township. He does great work, a little slow, but darn good work. He also did my 454.

8 months?? You lucky dog. Lol. My guy had mine for so long I had almost forgot about it. Never ever tell a machinist that your not in a hurry. They take you serious. I love Chevy Orange by the way.

Ya I really liked the old school Chevy orange, much better than black. You are right about never telling a machinist you are not in a hurry!
