Default 5.3 wiring harness question

I'm starting to wire up my harness in my 72 gmc. I was wondering if anyone knows if I have to hook up pedal release wire?

are you installing cable or dbw throttle as 04 is dbw. one connector comes out of harness plugs into tach box. other connector goes to gas pedal with separate harness. You can mount tach box wherever it works best for you. main harness plug is after where fuse block was. has wires coming out of side of plug.

It's Dbw. I already have that part hooked up. But I have 4 wires coming out of the harness where I would tie into my old stuff 1 of the wires is labeled pedal release.

don't know on that one. Did you look on Lt1Swap.com site? I know I had several wires not used from main harness plugging into tach box. I used the Lt1 site for my 06 Silverado harness.

Never heard of a pedal release wire, but I suspect it means the brake pedal, and would be hooked to the terminals on it that are closed when the pedal is released, and open when pressed. You need a 4 connector brake switch for it, a switch from a mid 70's chevy truck with cruise control will work. Who did your harness?
