Default No power to starter solenoid

Hey guys I hope someone can help me out here. I just pulled out my LS1 in my 98 Trans AM. I put in my 6.0 Turbo engine and decided to go with Holley EFI. I am just finishing up everything and ready to crank engine over but not getting any power to the starter solenoid. I hope someone can help me out, but I'm thinking it may be something with a neutral safety switch. I know the one on my Hurst shifter is fine since I have never had issues and worked a few weeks ago when I pulled the car into the shop. Where do the NSS wires go after leaving shifter? Do they go to the factory pcm? Wiring is not one of my strong points and curious if someone has ran into similar issues?

Is this still in a 98 TA? If so it would go to the starter relay which is controlled by the BCM. If its a swap you would generally run the wire straight from the NSS to the starte, so if you arent using the stock computer and wiring it probably isnt getting a signal to the relay. You would need to bypass it.

Yes it is still in the 98 TA. I kept the bcm so I would still have all my lights, but was really hoping I could still use the key switch to start the car. I will wire a push button starter if I must, but wanted to keep extra switches to a minimum.

The answer would not have come in the General Maintenance section where it was posted and many of the folks in this section have the skills and knowledge to quickly assist with the question. (As above.)

Thanks for your support of the community.

You dont have to change the ignition switch, you just need to make it so that it turns the starter relay on when in the crank position. IRC the BCM grounds the relay when it sees the right key, so if you just permanently ground the relay it should work.

Thanks I got a chance to try grounding the relay and worked like a charm!
