Default Help Please Ls Swap

Hello, my name is Connor and i am new to this forum.

I Am doing my first Ls swap in my 1966 Chevy pick up with a 4 speed manual trans. I really could use help on some dues and dont's. I did build a stand alone harness and it is ready to go. The motor is a 5.3 Vortec out of an 03 Tahoe. i REALLY could use help on this return fuel system for my truck, right now it is just a simple non-return system, so I am at a total loss.

Thank you guys!!!

Use a C5 corvette fuel filter. It has an internal regulator and a return port. I highly suggest using an in tank fuel pump, not an external pump. Mount the C5 filter near your fuel tank, and run a return line from the filter back to the tank. Looking forward to see your build.

Thank you SS69LS1 , would you happen to know to know a place to get one? And any suggestion on what type of internal fuel pump I could use?

I use either napa or the dealer. There are some cheap knock offs out there. My local NAPA usually has one in stock. I have not seen a vehicle specific efi tank for your truck, but its possible you could use an efi fuel cell mounted between the frame rails under the rear area of the bed. I have seen a 69 camaro tank used as well, with the filler neck coming out behind the license plate.

Thank you!! So do you think I could use and 03 Tahoe internal fuel pump? Even if the fuel tank is right behind my seat?

I would get the right tank with the right pump, in the right place (NOT behind the seat). This will eliminate chasing fuel system problems, performance problems, fuel starvation, AND keep you safe in the event of an accident/fire etc. This is one place not to go the cheap route.

You are in the newer Gen V LT1 section. You'll get more responses in the LS section. Bob

I used this in my 65, it's a 53-54 Chevy passenger car from Tanks inc. it's already baffed and set up for a drop in pump.
