Default 96 5.3 blazer suggestions

So I got my 5.3 swap done, and I'm happy with the results. But I'm not overly thrilled. It runs good, does good on open road, etc. Just doesn't have the fun factor I was hoping for. So it's a factory 04 lm7, f body manifolds, 3.42 gears. So it's kinda like driving a Silverado. I have a 3.73 gear waiting along with shift kit and contemplating a 278mm 2a Circle d converter. What do you guys think. Will these mods do enough to help my quest for something fun to drive to work. Or just drive it and save for a 6.0. Or throw caution to the wind and start to piece my Mp 70 .96 together. I still need an intercooler, inj, map, and piping. Please don't bash my intake tube. I know it needs to be moved as my IAT's are high sitting still, and a plan is in place to move it.

Well after reading as many cirlce d 278mm 2a reviews as I could find I went on and pulled the trigger to buy one. So when that gets here I'll do that and all the other drive line stuff I listed. Thanks for all the overwhelming responses as to what upgrades should wake up the little blazer,jk...

heads/cam and a set of longtube headers with a tune would really wake that lm7 up

Thanks for the reply hokeplaya05, least I don't feel like Im talking to myself. I do that enough as it is lol. Looks like Ill need to build those long tubes, as 1200 is a chunk for stainless and that seems to be all thats available right now. I was thinking of a TR220 cam as everyone seems to like it. Heads Im not sure on. I haven't really researched them that much. I would like to put the 4.8 flat tops in it though. I built a 94 2 door blazer with a gen i vortec back in the day and just seemed faster. Maybe it's just I remember it being fast, I don't know for sure. It sure as hell didn't get the mileage the 5.3 is getting.

so there are no off the shelf longtubes for the ls swap in those blazers? I thought they at least had them for the s10's which I would imagine aren't much different.

Jones'n posted the shelf headers I was talking about. I thought they were little bit higher. It's a beautiful set but little out of my range something i can build. Mine won't be as pretty, but I can't build a cam or cast my own heads. I'm still spoiled with gen 1 400 dollar headers. I think them are the only true long tubes off the shelf though. Thanks Jones'n for the link.

Just keep checking the classifieds in the s10 forum. The Stainlessworks longtubes come up for sale every so often. I was able to pick up a set with the v- bands for $880. If not you can go for the older CPW 1 3/4 longtubes. I think some1 on there has a set for sale. Just check those classifieds.
BRP has longtubes but all of them are out of the frame longtubes except the 1 3/4. Unfortunately most of the really nice longtubes for the s series r expensive.

It was 520 something shipped to my door. 4200 would be different but I like my v8s to much, and it's in there now, lol...
