Neutral safety switch question

Neutral safety switch question I have a older 1996 non LS style 4L60E in my truck (96 Tahoe) that im swapping a 2005 5.3 into. the NSS connector on the 5.3 harness is different than the NSS connector on my trans, do I just cut and splice the wires ?
