Default F-body limited slip carrier on a 1969 10 bolt??

I have a 1970 Chevelle with a 1969 10 bolt 8.2"

I just picked up a used f-body complete rear axle from a 2000 Camaro. I planned to use just the disc brakes off of it- but after opening the diff cover, the F-body differential looks exactly like mine.

Could I install the limited slip carrier from the 2000 Camaro on to my 1969 axle/gears?

Don't think it will fit. Just because it looks the same doesn't mean its the same size. They stopped making 8.2's in '71, and switched to the 8.5. That said, I don't know what size a 2000 Camaro has, but my guess is your eyecromiter is off a bit.

4th gens use a 7.625 10 bolt rear. I haven't played with an 8.2 to any extent other than having one under my '70 as a roller rear but can almost certainly guarantee there is no interchangeability between carriers.
