Default Aeromotive stealth 340 EFI system

Im in the process of installing the 340 stealth in tank pump into a tanks inc efi tank... the pump is supposed to install into tanks as shallow as 6" which is the depth of the tank. With the pump butted against the outlet bulk head fitting and and the fuel sock installed it measures 6.5". So it doesnt fit. Anyone else run into this issue?

This is in a 68 cutlass fuel tank.

Yes it is the trim to fit system that is for tanks for 6-11" deep. The fuel pump is butted against the top of the unit so there is no way for it to be any more shallow....right now im thinking either dent the bottom of the tank or bend the the fuel pump support so that its in there at an angle.

I have the system in my sprite and I love it. I would just take a BFH and see if you can put some love taps in the bottom of the tank, or if it's a new tank with no fuel that has been in it, cut a square at the bottom and weld a section into it that makes that spot lower.

I ended up massaging the bottom of the tank and making it work.

I installed this into my fuel cell for my project and it went pretty easy. It was a good system. Fortunately for me, my tank was so deep I only had to trim a 1/4 inch off the pump bracket and nothing off the foam baffle.
