Gen 5 LT1 into 4th gen f body possible?
Was wondering if this has been attempted, and how to go about it with the harness and economic. I think the motor mounts and exhaust will hook right up, along with transmission if I'm not mistaken.

The mounts won't hook up directly as the block mounting bolt patterns and fore/aft positioning from the bellhousing mating surface are different. The exhaust flange bolt patterns are also different.

They came with an LT1 from 93-97 J/K
I found this installation guide

We've got you covered on a standalone wiring harness, when you get to that point. http://www.speartech.com/category_s/1836.htm
Motor mounts are different from LS. As well as the exhaust manifold bolt pattern.

You obviously need different headers because the LT exhaust flanges are different than LS. You also need to figure out all of the electronics.

Holley (and other companies) makes a front accessory drive for the LT1. That takes care of power steering. Fuel is easy, just an upgraded intank pump. Stock Gen6 exhaust manifolds might not be sexy but I bet they fit a 4th gen.

The LT engine are basically the same size as the LS engines, so I don't see why it would not fit. To make it even easier, Holley just release clam shell engine mounts that bolt to the LT engine and mimic the 4th gen Camaro mounts. In other words, it is basically plug-N-play.

As for fuel I already have an upgraded Walbro pump. But like it was said, power steering, headers, & gauges might pose some roadblocks.
And what about the transmission?

Hopefully I will be able to alleviate some concerns and questions on this subject, as I am literally taking on this swap. I have a LT1/8l90 dropout, just pulled everything out of the engine bay of my 4th gen, and will be doing this swap over the next few weeks. I will document everything the best that I can, and make a thread so that whoever is interested, can follow. As of right now, the only road block I can see, is getting a drive shaft to go from the 8l90 to an 8.8.

I have not quite made it that far yet. I just ordered all the controllers, gas pedal, etc. Once the mounts show up I will be able to actually drop everything in. If I have to modify the tunnel, I will more than likely cut it out, and re fab it to make it look factory. As for gauges, I was thinking about running a motec dash and integrating it into the factory cluster bezel. Possibly paddle shifter setup to control the "manual" mode of the trans? But as of now, the main focus is getting everything in the car and running. As soon as parts show up, I will start a build thread for this.
