T56 into my 70 Chevelle I am wanting to put a t56 in my 70 chevelle. I know there are many different variations of the t56. I need to know what will mate to my 400 sbc. And if I will need any other things to make this work as different bellhousing or clutch. I'm on a tight budget so looking for the most inexpensive options. Thanks

An LT1 T56 would be the most budget friendly. The transmission would bolt right up to a small block using the stock LT1 bellhousing and clutch assembly. You'd just need to source a hydraulic clutch master cylinder such as a Wilwood unit and adapt it to the stock clutch pedal.
