Im hoping I have the issue with a bad thermostat fixed, so I got back to finalizing the install on the gauges. One of the features of these gauges, is that it has a provision for a Shift light. Now I didnt want a Big ole light sitting on my dash. So I decided to mount a small light out of sight, but will seen when it is activated.
I really didnt want to make any cuts that would be seen from the outside.
So I busted out the dremel tool, and made a cut on the backside and mounted a small, bright light.
Well, when I went to install the cover, the bulb socket hit the AC control unit. so again, I used to the dremel to make a new hole.
And here is the final product. Nothing here to see...
until the box sees a set RPM and makes the light shine!
I havent tried it out yet, as it was 2am when I finished and Im sure the neighbors wouldnt be happy to hear the truck that early in the am. When I get home, I plan on setting the rpm to around 1200 and then giving it some throttle to make sure it works.

So I got the truck back together and Im really digging these gauges. If you are on the fence about them, jump over and get em!
Using my stock T56 speed sensor, I followed the directions to calibrate the speedo and it works perfect! Also, my shift light, works as planned and is bright enough to see even in the day! These gauges are too freaking cool!
I also changed out the valve covers on the truck. I thought the old ones were missing something. I realized that after I swapped my Chevy II ones onto the truck. I like the red with black better, so I had my Powdercoating guy hook them up.
Much better!
I needed to get oil for the wife's Burban, so my boy, Bodie and I headed off to the Zone.
While driving the truck, I noticed the volts would not climb like they normally do. Im hoping that it was just because the battery was just sitting for a few months with no trickle charger on it. So I got the Trickle charger on it now and will check it when I get home.
Always something...

Its been a while since Ive updated this as the truck is pretty much done.
I have been contemplating getting it painted and possibly installing some new rims/tires. Im looking at these guys,

maybe these...

or I might just get the beauty rings and caps for the ones I have now.
If anyone is still watching this build, chime in with your opinion.
Heres a quick lil video of it rolling down the highway last Fall...

Finally got around to getting new rims for the C10. After looking at a few different designs, I ended up with Billet Specialties, Speedway series in a 20" diameter.
I was surprised with how good the ride was. No wandering or tracking weird on the highway between 75-80.
Now, Im just wondering how much I want to spend on bodywork and paint to have the truck look as good as the rims.

Hey man, I know this is a old thread but is your truck a low hump pan? You didn't have to cut the tunnel that much at all?
I'm asking because I'm looking at doing a T56 Magnum behind a built BBC in my 76 square.
