T56 swap question
I have a 92 s10 currently with a 5.3 and 4l60e from an 04 Tahoe and I just bought a t56 from a 02 trans am. My question is what need's to be done as far as programming to make this work? I read somewhere that I don't need to hook up the cags or the reverse lockout if I don't want it. The vss should be the same type of plug as the 4l60e shouldn't it? Will the engine run right without the big transmission plug from the 4l60e? I'm sure it will throw codes but as long as I have everything running correctly it's fine cause I plan on keep the 4l60e. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

I'm not sure I would need it. It's pretty hard to get into reverse already so I don't know if I will make the mistake of jamming it in reverse when I go to 5th. Other than that do you think the engine will work like normal?

Cool that's what I was wondering. So if I decided to keep the pcm the way it was it would just throw codes for the tranny but not affect performance would it? I plan on throwing the 4l60e later on when I build it up. I just don't want to keep sending the pcm off to get reprogrammed when I swap the transmissions
