Default Cruise control wiring for DBW, what type of switches

So the instructions I got from the wiring harness company I used say to used NORMALLY CLOSED momentary switches for the "cruise set/coast" and "cruise resume/accelerate".

All the diagrams I look at looks like you should use NORMALLY OPEN momentary switches.. Just want to see which is correct..

Does PCM look for a pulsed 12v signal? Or as a normally closed switch would provide- a constant 12v source and when pushed it cuts the 12volts momentarily

Thanks

A normally closed switch is generally opposite to the way cruise the control Circuits I have used operate.
A little more information would be helpful. Who's wire harness are you using and what PCM, is the cruise controlled by the engine PCM or an outside module?

It's a psi conversions wiring harness, I have a standard 2002 ls1 style PCM - the wires for the cruise control are coming from the TAC module of the electronic throttle pedal

You need normally open switches for set/coast and resume/accel.

For what it's worth I have a Spear tech harness and used a Dakota Digital HND-1 when I had dbw.

Just connect it up as shown in the diagrams. On switch is a toggle, others are momentary.

Right, but I was questioning the initial position of the momentary switches. Instructions say to use 'normally closed' when everything else says to use 'normally open'

I guess I'll just wire it up using normally open momentary switches and hope to god nothing bad happens when I flip the 'on' switch... lol

You definitely need normally open switches. Nothing bad will happen if you use normally closed switches, like most aftermarket turn signal lever mounted ones (not the DD hdn-1), other than the fact that the cruise won't operate.

I used a cruise lever from a G body Car and just modified it so there was no washer lever and made an adapter to go to mount to my IDIDIT column.

Got it all hooked up, but nothing happens when I flip the switch to run send "on power" and toggle 12v to PCM using momentary normally open switches..

Anyone know what else I can check?

There are several things to check, but I usually start with the easy stuff first. Do you have all the wires hooked up? Do you have 12v at the on/off switch? Do you have LED brake lights?
