I'd say it's a worthwhile swap. I recently drove the car to my new home, which has a nice 3 car attached garage to work in. The car no longer has to live outside under a carport. I'll post a video progress update as soon as I get some time to do it. In the meantime, I did build something much, much faster. Enjoy.

Do you recall what the fuel sender is resistance was? I may be picking up a 545i really soon to swap myself. Thx in advance!!

I ended up pulling the fuel pump sending unit out and measuring the resistance across the circuit as I moved the float up and down. I believe it was 70 ohms when empty and 300 when full. It's been a few months though, so don't quote me on that.

Do a search and you will find stuff on the LS7. The 8.3 V10, not so much...

Default E65 swap

Thinking about LQ9 swapping an 06 750li, any advice you can give on the wiring? I'm used to cave man tech, BMW is a whole new world for me. I love the ride and look of the e65, but the n62 has to go as painlessly as possible. Already planning on after market gauges but I do wanna keep cruise control and ac and all the little bells and whistles that make a BMW a BMW

Here's a good rule of thumb when it comes to BMW. If you don't understand it, rip it out and replace it with something that you do. You can build a pretty reliable car that way. There are plenty of people out there that understand how to make everything work with the BMW CAN system, but I'm not one of them.

The BMW is currently at the tuner's shop getting everything optimized for daily driving. No AC or Heat yet. Heat will be easy. If necessary I can go with aftermarket parts for AC.

I'm an average Joe. It took plenty of time because I only worked on it during the summer, but I came up with solutions that anyone could do. By the way. This car is fast and reliable. Not a beast, but I didn't build to be that way. I just wanted an LS powered BMW that was good looking and reliable.

Thank you, Albert, for becoming a member here so that you could refute a 3-1/2-year-old post with "proof" from Youtube. I can't speak for everyone else on the forum, but I know I'll sleep better tonight!

Lol. Actually Project Farm does a lot of videos testing and debunking wive's tails like that. But he doesn't use the most scientific methods, so I don't know how accurate it is.
But yeah, why don't people look at post dates?
