I don't know currently, but I'll throw one one there in the morning and take a look at it...the truck alternator definately won't clear the stock good.

Ok, thank you. Just wondering. I wouldn't use the truck bracket anyway.

Nice project, good to see another option.

How much clearance is there between the steering rack and the oil pan? How far upwards do you think the steering rack can be offset and still maintain clearance?

Thanks.

dmracing, the truck manifold will not permit the stock hood to be closed.

There's easily an inch between the steering rack and the Holley 302-2 pan, so I'd say you could raise the steering rack by 3/4" without any problems.

I finished up the prototyping of the exhaust system this morning and got the car prepped for display at LSFest this weekend. If any of you are attending the event, drop by the Holley trailer and take a look at it in person.

You're going to get to see some cool new stuff at the Holley trailer Andrew...both LS and LT related.

If enough parts become available, then a LT4 is a better candidate for the GTO upgrade! I hope there is something in the works for the electronics, because it would be best to retain the VVT, etc...

Did you check to see if the truck intake fits?

I'd be tempted to go the LT4 route myself as that's a pretty impressive package for the money. I'm fully clued into the LT engine hardware we have coming out, but I don't know what the EFI guys have been working on, so you'll have to do some checking at the trailer. I'll be at the trailer all day Friday and most of the day Saturday.

Just looking at the pics, my guess would be that a truck intake is a no-go...plenty of room in the back, but the hood line slopes fast and the truck intake is flat...plus the TB...

Yes, I posted an answer for you a few posts back. The truck intake will not clear the stock hood...not even close.

Man, one of these would make a killer daily driver. Get a low mileage v6 creampuff, add a 8.8 rear, or even a IRS from a Cobra, and off you go...even a 5.3L with a 4l60e would probably run mid 12s...so many swaps to do...so little time!

Sorry, must have read right over it. You think a cowl hood would do it?

What's with the hard-on for a truck intake? Use a car intake and forget about it...LS1, LS6, LS2 all good options for cathedral heads. LS3 and LS7 for the other port designs...

It would depend on how far forward the raised section projected. As Andrew mentioned, the interference is all in the vicinity of the throttle body, so the raised portion of the hood in question would need to extend that far forward to address it.

Yeah, it makes for a real sensible combination.

Exhaust looks great. Is that the 3 or 2.5?
