Gen III 6.0 HO in Mud Truck
Ive been creeping around reading about this swap for about3 months and man is there a TON of information on here. So much that I feellike although I have learned a lot, I have even more unanswered questions anduncertainty about how to proceed with my swap.
I hate beating a dead horse but the internet is just sofull of “conversations about topics” instead of clear cut “facts” anymore itshard to find what you are looking for no matter what the topic.
I have a 05 Cadillac escalade with a 6 liter I will beputting in a mud truck and the two main concerns I have are
- Drive by wire pedal in a vehicle that will be severely beaton and filthy, often up to the hood in swamp water
- Header clearance between frame rails of this small truck
I am still left scratching my head about #1, have to add afew sensors and some other things as well as find a new pcm from 02 expressvan?
One of the debates for keeping DBW is cruise control andthat is irrelevant to my application.
Is there a way to make this DBW pedal controllerbulletproof?
If not, can someone point me in the clear cut direction forfactual information, not opinions or arguments to or for DBW, of what exactly Iwill need to convert?
For #2, according to advance adapters and some otherliterature I have browsed across the center dumps on long tube headers are notgoing to clear my frame rails. Does anyone know of a custom LTH kit I can buyand fab myself.
Thanks

On a mud truck why not turn them up and go out the hood instead of underneath? Also you can turn the intake backwards and cut a hole in the firewall for the intake to get clean air from inside the cab. It can't be that hard to waterproof the throttle body and I'm assuming you would be turning off the knock sensors too?

As far as knock sensors I haven't gotten that far.
I'm looking to make high 500- low 600 hp with engine.
Putting hard parts on and in engine, installation and then tuning is my plan in that order
Thanks
