So all I did for the rear calipers is get 2 of the passengers side Explorer flex hoses (the drivers side acts as a doubled hose) and splice them into the stock Volvo hard line. I did have to use a ford style metric flare nut. I cut off the Volvo barcket and drilled a hole in it.

To get the drive shaft in I had to cut out the brace that goes under the stock unit. I added a bolt in angle iron piece just for S & G's in case the shaft breaks and to tag the halves of the floor back together.

I stole this next idea from a member on here Rich Halsey and his turbo 740 wagon. It is a 3" pipe turned out the bottom of the stock Volvo muffler.

I'm thinking of replacing the bigger turbo tail pipe with the smaller N/A tail pipe which is like 1.5" lol

My car is a N/A car. Yeah my stock pipe is tiny.

Do you have any more info on your rear end swap.

What more would you like to know? I have found out I will need to move the stock upper spring mount inward about an inch at least. The ford calipers are still hitting the springs when they compress. The spacers I used are 5x4.5" to 5x108mm and are 1.25" thick.

I did get a bit more done. I merged a GM V30 hydroboost to steering box poer steering line with the Volvo pressure line via flare fittings. The return I just trimmed the stock Vovlo unit and ran it to the pump. I also mounted and unknown cooling fan. 94-97 Cadillac STS or Deville maybe?

So I started to clean up the stock harness. Basically just taking out all the circuits that I don't need. I made up a pcm mount from an old shelf. It will hold an S10 style pcm mount. I put it right next to the battery. Now just on to deciphering the Vovlo schematics which seem to be a bunch of random numbers and symbols...

I'm digging your project.
I've got a '95 850 that could use a bit more umph, but dang, that thing just won't die. Wife's car that we've had since new. I'm starting to think you can't kill those with dynamite.

I will need to cut the tunnel brace to get it into the car.

Where did you get your driveshaft. I am going to pickup a 8.8 tomorrow to start getting ready for the rear end swap. Any more pics of what all you did to your rear.

I got mine built at a local drive shaft shop that I've been using for years. Jon's Shafts in Manchester NH. Not sure of what else you need for info as most of the 8.8 swap is pictured in the thread here.

So even though it was the holidays over the past week I did manage to get a little bit more done. I got the harness started into the car and most of the Volvo side stripped out. I also mounted a B&M ratchet shifter (even though I hate them...Hey it was free!)

I did manage to get a little more time in on the wagon and got the wiring about 85% finished up. I made up an air intake tube as well.

Here is my solution to fueling. The fittings on the Volvo pump are a weird metic threaded mess so I just welded an elbow on to it so I can run regular fittings. Plumbed it into a vette filter because the L92 fuel rails are returnless. I just have to wire the PCM signal wire into the Volvo relay and it should be ready to go. All that is left to fire it up is trans cooler lines and waiting for the MAf TO COME IN.

You've made incredibly fast progress on this swap. I have to laugh at all the guys that say the Volvo swaps have been done to death. How many have you seen in person? This Volvo will be no-less fun because someone one state over might have also put an LS in a beater 850, nor will the guy next to you at a stop light be any less surprised. Awesome work -- keep it up.

This can be said for just about any swap. We are constantly being exposed to these swaps because of this forum, but in the real world swaps are pretty rare.

When I attend any sort of local show, I see maybe one swap besides mine...and that's being generous...
