Thanks Doug! By the way it's your fault I started down this path. Haha!
I shot some more footage today and realized my camera was off for part of the work I did. There is still plenty to go so I'll record more work tomorrow. It's a little frustrating when you think you're recording something and your battery decides it's time for a holiday. Oh well. I guess I should check these things first. Live and learn.

haha i've done that so many times. that's why I pretty much do a one-and-done no editing style now. way less stressful. my freeware video editor is such a pita to use, i have to be in an especially masochistic mood to mess with it

Haha! I had a free editor, then a cheap editor and now a nice editor thanks to the wife. WTF This is like building a car without a plan or budget.

I get it with the one and done thing but my OCD kicks in and it all goes to sideways.
The main thing is I want to show more of the process than just the finished result. My life would be so much simpler if I could talk to the camera and just pop them out like you do. I like your style, it's simple and awesome I just can't talk to a camera. Maybe if I place a funny mask on it and make the thing look like a face or make the wife hold it so I'm talking to her. Haha

Besides I'm sure my neighbours already think I'm crazy. One even asked if I was alright and who I was talking to when I was filming last summer. It probably made no sense to her, the temp was 100 outside, I looked homeless, hair was crazy, clothes were ripped up and dirty, I was sweating like a pig and walking around talking to a camera.

Thanks BAM!

One day soon I'll have a full complement of sheet metal on this guy only this time without the bondo and rust.

Only had about an hour and a half to work on the car... simply amazing what you can hammer out if you are determined.

Rusted bit.

Patch.

Old and new.

The hole.

Fitted.

Finished.

Hope to get some more time in this weekend.

This is inside the trunk on the driver's side (US) behind the wheel well, see the blue circle in the picture below.

The large silver part was only held in with sheet metal screws for mockup. The silver area has been in and out of the car 20 or more times for various reasons, mostly centered around being a 1962 panel (about 30% different) going in a 1961 car and I want it to look and function like a 1961 panel. This was the last patch in the area before I put the panel back for the last time. Once the panel is in place this area is only accessible from the wheel well side.

Flat patches are easy, it's the curved ones that are difficult. Either way I spend most of my time fitting the panels together for the tightest gap I can manage. I want the patch to disappear when I've finished the metalwork.
