Default Heater in a LS swapped 79 Trans Am

I am about to dig into this, for those who have done this, what is the best way?

The blower motor and resistor are new and have been tested. I have yet to install as it's been 20 degree here:/

The control head moves freely, but at the current moment doesn't activate anything.

After the blower, I need to figure out how to control the doors. I assume those are vacuum activated?

I know the Pontiac motors in this ran largely by vacuum and that motor is gone so what is the best way?

Thanks fellas!

Billy

Aren't there several vacuum lines that run off the control head?

there is usually 1 line feeding vacuum to a vacuum reserve ball. Then off that it feeds vacuum to inside car where then your controls changes it to operate the doors. Control changes vacuum from 1 to another when changing heat to defroster, etc.

Look under the hood over by the suitcase. Should be a hard vac line. Mines purple

Thank you sir. When it warms up I'm gonna change the motor and resistor and go from there.

well changing motor and resistor not going to change anything. If motor giving trouble you can check it with 12v and a ground, it works or don't. The resistor with curly wires on it do go bad. All it really does is control fan speed high to low by changing thru different curls changes the power fan gets.

Well, it doesn't work so I have to change it to get anything accomplished. The resistor was a few bucks so why not.
