Hello one and all: This 49 Chevy was my street rod in 1960, 301 2x4 ram induction Mallory ignition balanced B/W t-10-- long time ago. IN 1988 welded on a Nova sub frame, nice built 350 with a turbo 400. Since I'm retired figered I'd redo this, frame off, instaled 4 link triangulated supention 12 bolt rear ,disc brakes , every thing sand blasted, all floor boards replaced, every thing sealed with 2 coats of SPI 2 stage epoxy. Car and frame on rotesori. Now the fun part just bought a 2012 LS3 out of Camero 23,000 miles complete pull out radiator to fuel tank,tr6060 trany, will be here this Tuesday. Lurked for a wile been a member for a wile, have a lot of questains ------ have read that the PCM in this car will self learn----- if so how much will it learn -- cam and headers?-- or will IHalf to get a tune right off? Looking at this set up I might need to move the shifter, what company provides the best kit? Plan on building my own harness ,been looking for pin out for the PCM but can't find one in the search, The drive line comes with this set up, what will I need to do to mate the tr6060 to the 12 bolt? That should do for now Thanks Larry

Post some pictures.

The ECU does have short and long term fuel trims, but if you are going to get cam and headers, you will need a tune.

The TR6060 has a fixed yoke, so you will need to have movement in the driveshaft to accommodate for rear suspension travel. Might be better off selling the TR6060 that you have and getting a T56 Magnum. The magnum is the same trans only more swap friendly and uses a regular slip yoke.

Depending on the year of your tr6060 D&D sells a conversion kit for $700 or so that converts it to a splined output for a slip yoke.

Engine showed up 2 weeks ago, got it stripped down ready to drop in. Just got a Holley 302-1 set up, nice pieces. Once the body shop can clear me a spot so I can seal the body and clear the shop out, I'll start fitting this up. Been a rather nasty winter in montana, but thats the price we pay for living here

Mabey I'll figure out posting pix full size but till then here are a few more,plan on setting the engine in the frame tomorrow, looks like this should fit up without having to cut the hell out of my new floor boards.

I like what you did adding a plate to the frame. Did a 50 Bel Air years ago and also added a "K" member due to no "B" pillar. No such thing as a frame that's to rigid.

Dropped engine into frame fit up went great will need a different water pump-- will a pump from a LQ4 from a Cady work? need the outlet coming out the top of the pump. The alt will fit up fine in stock lower mount-- will need to mod pocket in frame from my old instal of 350 s/b. This looks like I won't half to cut the floor boards to get this in.

My first car was a 50 Chevy Fastback, put a warmed over 283 in it with a J.C. Whitney adapter kit. I could hull out the little six cylinder tranny like a hog eating corn after about 6 I sold it, but it was a hoot to drive, surprised a lot of 56-57 Chevys and fords...

Yea I know what you mean about the trany, I went with a Borg Warner T-10 and a rear end that was a posi from a 58 Chevy with traction masters worked out real well. One thing I've encountered in this frame off build is that most of the spot welds in the body were cracked or broke----- to much fun. A few pix, have taken a ton of pix of this build-- so my kids will apreciate what they will enharate --- great speller I am NOT.

This has fit up nice, the questin is what header will clear the frame-- see the pix, would like to run long tube, will do some fabing on factory cross member to fit rear of the collector. Any sugestains will be considered. Thanks Larry

So here we go with full size pix. These are shots of new oil pan--- will give me 9" of clearence for Camaro p/s rack. also pix of old headers from the s/b old engine-- just to get an idea of what the new headers should fit up like, ordered from ebay, will shoe up next week. With the new r/p I will be able to get rid of the heavy sagana set up-- a lot more clearance for the header , I hope

Won't headers to fit a 1st gen Camaro/Nova fit, if that's the subframe your using? Great project!
