Im sure this has been answers before but, I have been reading all day and haven't came up with a answer that I like. I have a 2000 s10 4x4 that I bought that has a 2006 LQ9 6.0 and it's running the stock s10 4l60e trans. It's a wheeling rig that I have been wheeling for the last 2 years. The transmission finally let go last night. My question is can I use a 4l60e out of a Silverado, or any half ton Chev truck or do I have to stay with the s10 style 4l60. I am unsure if they are the same design

If you have a LQ9 then you can run a 2 piece style 4l60e out of a silverado close to the same year. The 4.3L is the same bolt pattern as the LS based engines.

Perfect, that's what I needed to know. My case is a 2 piece case now I just didn't know if the Silverado ones were the same, as in TC and input shaft

They do have differences but if you get on out of a truck that had a 5.3L or 4.8L you are good to go but if you get one from a little earlier style that had a 350 engine then it will be different. You want one with a 300mm input shaft pretty much and a bolt hole at top dead center of the bell housing but also look at your electrical connector to make sure they are the same

Ok thanks. I'm thinking that 00' they changed up to the 300mm shafts.
