NEED HELP: Painless Wire Kit LS3 71 Chevelle Hey Guys I need some Help. I recently re wired the harness in my 71 Chevelle. I used a Painless wire harness. I am having 2 issues.
Issue #1 The car does not want to shut off when you turn the key off. We ruled out the alternator, checked the relays, checked the ignition switch not sure what else it can be.
Issue #2 When I connect HP Tuners through the OBDII port I am getting a communication error (Locker Timed Out) and can not connect to the PCM. I pulled out the PCM and connected hp tuners through a bench top harness and it works fine.
Please let me know what are your thoughts. Much Appreciated.

It sounds like your connection to the ignition is wired as a constant and not to an accessory.
If the harness is not modified and as purchased I would contact the vendor you purchased it from as there may be a few pins routed incorrectly on the harness to the ecu
