Default LS9 supercharged w/ 6L80 93 Trans Am Build

Time to start the project thread and I'll document as much of it as I can....
I've had my 93 Trans Am 20 years this past January and after rolling 200K miles with it and new goals set, its time to upgrade it. I guess 'upgrade' is kind of an understatement and after its all said & done it should be quite fun- especially on the road courses!

I'll be alongside Chris and Mike from MoJo Design & Fab LLC in Milwaukee, WI for the engine assembly, fabrication and installation of everything.
These guys are more than up to the task as they have built numerous SCCA National Championship winning cars in several classes and many other race cars & all things fast!

Here's the basics of the plan as of now:
Out with the LT1 and its 4L60 and in with an LSA supercharged L92 with ZL1 lid backed by a paddle shift 6L80.

At this point, I have the L92 and the LSA supercharger.
UPDATE Jan 26th, 2018- I decided to go with an LS9 supercharger and lid! - yes that's the Corvette ZR1's supercharger
The LSA supercharger has been sold and the LS9 had been ordered.

The engine has already been torn down and had its block, crank, rods and pistons cleaned, inspected and prepped for re-assembly. Undecided on if I'll use the L92 pistons or go aftermarket.
I'll be doing the update on the supercharger and most likely will be under driving it. So far I'm liking the BTR stage 2 positive displacement cam with matched valvetrain, including the Straub trunion upgrade but still plenty of time to nail it down.

ECU may be the AEM Infinity with their wire harness. I choose AEM because I track the car and want the integrated mutli-channel data acquisition with GPS and as far as tuning goes, the shop that is doing my engine build knows its programming extremely well.

The 6L80 6 speed auto trans will be upgraded internally and will also have a modified valve body for faster shifting, strength and longevity. It will be controlled by a Powertrain Control Solutions TCM which we'll of course tune.
The paddleshift will be a steering wheel mounted PCS unit with modified paddles for a little bit more reach.

To keep blower & trans temps in check I'm planning for a heat exchanger, new radiator and trans cooler. This should make for interesting solution because of the limited openings on the front of the 4th gen T/A.

The instrument cluster will be replaced by either a iq3 RacePak Street Dash or an AEM display with a supplemental display. If I can figure this part out, I'd like to have a heads up display that will show gear and rpm's. So far, no dice on something over-the-counter for this.

For more stopping power, I'm pulling off the C5 Vette brakes and installing the 6 piston CTSV brakes and will be using the ZL1 rotors.

The goal for completion is by next July in order have it at Road America for tracking and the concours during the WeatherTech International Challenge.

Pics and more info to follow.....

Very tight. Tight like a tiger.

Cool stuff.

Your car looks very good BTW. Have a build thread anywhere?

More HP needs more brake so 6 piston Brembos are replacing the C5 brakes that have been on for a few years already.

Got the calipers, hardware and LS spindles. To help with the mock up on for fitment and clearancing I got ahold of some used ZL1 rotors. New ones will go on once the car is nearing completion.

A few pics with the C5 rotor since I haven't opened up the ZL1 rotor yet to fit it over the LS hub---

This isn't mine, but check another's install with the LS9 lid. It seals differently to the blower than the CTSV lid which is no big deal but damn it's pricey!

What do you have to do to get a 6L80E to fit? Beat in trans tunnel and custom drive shaft?
