how often do ya go to edgewater? i haven't been there in a long time, how has track prep been? need to go there sometime soon and help a friend tune suspension.

IMO on the cage id go straight to 10 pt, its much harder to add tubes later. i do this type of work for a living, PM me if ya need info or help

The past 2 times I’ve been it’s been pretty good. I would say mainly bc there was b-rad and some other no prep guys there. Lol those are the only 2 times I’ve ever seen them prep anything ever. ive had zero traction problems though, for some
reason my car just hooks. It hooks at the track and it hooks on the street. Romulus22 was surprised how well I’m hooking on drag radials. I have the strange 10 way adjustable shocks and struts all the way around. I think the fronts are all the way loose and the rear are 2 clicks from fully hard.

We may go tomorrow, it’s supposed to be really cool out later on in the evening. I think your right on just jumping to the 10pt. Plus I’ll save a little weight with the 10pt vs converting a 8pt to a 10pt.

Your car 60’s pretty good as is. You need to hook up that transbrake sometime. I’m curious to know if the sudden hit vs foot braking make a positive or negative impact. What RPM are you currently leaving at?

3000rpm.

i was messing with it the other day and I need to bleed my brakes bad. If I pump the **** out of them I can build 7-10psi off the foot brake. I’ve generally been leaving at 4-5

Nothing new to write home about with the car. I did cut a 1/4 coil off the rear springs and brought the rear down about a 1/2”z

ive really been tossing around the idea of selling/trading the car but honestly when I think hard about it I usually back out. Lol well before I could back out I got a trade offer that has my mind going crazy. Lol hear me out firsf

the car is a 83 notchback. Fiberglass everything but roof and quarters. It has...ford power. It’s a 347 with eagle rotating Assembly, trickflow 11r heads, holly xp carb, electric water pump, comp cam (not sure of the grind), pro shifted G-Force trans, QuickTime bellhousing, lexan windows, fiberglass dash. Rear is...mildly built, has a 4pt maximum motorsports roll bar that would need gone. The car has ran a 10.4 on motor so far and everything has 3-4 passes. So in my thinking, this could potentially make a freaking awesome race car. Shouldn’t weigh much, I have to look into it but that ford stuff could probably pay for a gen4 motor and all the turbo **** to go with it. Those heads are $2k themselves.

idk. Pretty torn right now as I really do like my car but damn, that notch has potential to be something serious. If any of you guys know anything about what some of that ford stuff may go far lmk.

That’s a good trade. That car looks clean. Notches are very hard to find clean. Around here anyway.

Got a few updates

last night I ran my best time at a 10.6 on 11/12psi and had my best 60’ with a 1.47. I had the fuel there to go up a click on my boost controller but left it alone. The car for sure needs a anti roll bar. I’ll post some pics later today. I can’t wait to get that and my trans brake hooked up and see what it does.

Pretty sure i have the heavy cervinis hood sold off my car today. Im on the hunt for a 4” cowl hood so I can throw a vortec cover on top of my truck intake, hides all that wiring that runs over the intake.

Oh and the fox trade. Both of us realized we weren’t really ready to let our cars go. There would be so much stuff on that car I’d want to change to make it the way I would want it
anyways.

Come on man don't be a follower be a leader I can spit and hit ten ls fox body cars when I started my new edge build there were less than five I knew of. If life hadn't happened the way it did i would be done long ago and had one of the few done. But the new edge is making a come back. Same motor in either car I take the new edge

Lol couldn’t part with my new edge and just deleted the thought out of my head of getting rid of it.

DAMN man 10.6 on only 12 psi. That's still the gt45 and a cammed 4.8 right?? I really need to get to the track next year. That is awesome.

Thanks man. Yeah still the gen3 4.8, ss2 cam. I need to have it tuned for more.

I’m not sure how realistic it is but I’d like to get into the 9’s next year with this combo. More boost, 2step and transbrake hooked up and a anti roll bar should get me a little quicker. My drag radials are wore out and have been contemplating slicks next year. Not sure yet

Did you get yours going with the 5.3?

I got it going and then I had an oil leak from the front cover. (I didn't line it up right when I put it back on after the cam install) All set now. Runs absolutely great but I have driven it very little and it's LOUD compared to before. The few times I had it out it felt SO much different than my 6.0 I really wasn't happy with it. Lost all that immediate throttle response down low that my stock cam lq had. I do have a stock converter still but I may pull this motor after I dyno it for an lq4 with a stock cam again. I liked the drivability more for what I do. Not sure yet.
I don't see any reason that combo can't take you there. Crank up the boost and lets get there!
