99 new edge mustang 4.8 lsx turbo swap

Head studs done! The worst part of it all was pulling off my brake booster to get the back one on the driver side.
Also added a small piece of stainless to the end of my downpipe. I like it a lot better then cut even with trim ring like it was.
Tomorrow I’ll start wiring back up my gauges, 2step, trans brake and boost controller. Then it’s off to the tuner for more boost.
Only thing left after that is the anti roll bar

Robby - I just ran across your build. Looks like lots of fun. I'm about to start a 4.8 swap into a 1960 Cadillac just for cruising. I need a shallow pan since the truck pan is too deep. What oil pan did you use? Do you have part numbers, source, etc?

Launching!
If you haven't yet, you should probably check out the "oil pan" sticky: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-oil-pans.html

Been buttoning up some small stuff.
My interior is just about complete, got my bump box, 2 step and transbrake wired up. Also ordered a ati sfi approved flexplate. Going to try and get it on before my first track outing. Also need a tranny blanket.
Got to get ahold of my tuner Tuesday for some dyno time and get this thing aligned and I’m good to go. This winter has seemed like a year long, I’m ready for some racing!!!

Awesome progress! I've been meaning to catch on this thread for a while now.
Im excited to see what the GT45 does as well, we just ordered one a few days ago for my brothers mustang.
Also, speaking from experience I would definitely recommend keeping the engine you have and just enjoy it for a while.
Its so easy to get caught up in wanting more speed/power etc that you can easily end up in a vicious cycle of spending.
(which a race car doesn't need any help with as parts break etc lol)
You can always just slowly gather parts for the next 'iteration'

What a day.
Went to to work this morning and get a text from my tuner. Said he found that one of my plug wire boots was tore and arcing off my manifold. Damn that sucks but glad it was a simple fix.
Get another text later on that the damn thing is out of gas. Used up roughly 9 gallon on the dyno! So I had the keys to the shed in my denali and the wife had to get ready for work so I took some personal time and go home and grab my gas. I’m running 50/50 93/110.
After this all is well and we make a pull, shuts it down early. 5500rpm to be exact.
Lost boost and asked if my throttle body coupler popped off again.
Nope. I start looking around some more and wouldn’t you know it my damn cheap *** hose coupler flew apart. I’m half retarded for not buying 4 ply when I bought my intercooler kit.
Learn from my mistakes ladies and gentleman lol.
ole 50 shades of red looked good on the dyno though!!
anyways he said bring it back after I order a coupler/elbow and it shouldn’t take more then an hour. My tuner is a great dude and really helped me out a lot this go round.
Before the elbow blew it made 525hp/496tq. Not horrible but not what I was looking for.
Watch for the bumper shake from elbow elbow blowing and intercooler smacking the inside of the bumper
