Not sure what VSR gets for that billet 480 but I’m all about cost effective. Be sick to hit 8s on the seriously cheap!
How much boost was that pass on btw??
thanks man, I really appreciate it. My eyes were glued to my wideband the whole time so I really don’t know what it was hitting. I think boost cut off is 21 or 22 so I know it didn’t go that high lol . It probably hit right at 19psi. Next outing I’ll mess with my boost controller some. It has a setting I need to turn on that records my highest psi during a run.

Turbo upgrade will come eventually. Just need to pay some **** off first

Managed to knock a tenth off my best time tonight. Track prep wasn’t the greatest so I spun every run but my fastest and I ended up ripping one of my anti roll bar tabs off my rear end. Race car problems.
It has more in it if I can get it too hook. I was leaving at 3400rpm on my best pass and blew the tires off at 3500 and when I backed it down to 3400

not sure what psi it was pushing in 1st and 2nd gear but it was at 17psi in 3rd gear.

still not bad for a gt45 and a gen3 4.8!! I’ll post up some videos tomorrow

Not a huge fan of new edge mustang's but some of these builds are incredible, yours being one of them!

Amazing what you've done with your 4.8, subbed to see what you have up your sleeve next.

thanks man I appreciate it! I’ll rock this eBay gt45 until we can’t get any faster with it.

I guess as of right now since it’s only the second outing out with the car, I’m actually pretty content with how it’s running. Scares the crap out of me every launch lol. We all know like anything else you get used to it and want more though.

I'll say it again.... WOW. A 9.8 with a cammed gen 3 4.8 and a gt45 turbo. You really can't ask for more from a cheap combo. Just so awesome I can't get over it. Makes me want to build a dedicated track car for the cheap hahaha! I've got enough parts laying around!

I want to do a similar build with my 5.3 84 mustang. Add some better flowing heads, turbo cam and was considering a china made gt35/45. You've put down some crazy numbers with your budget 4.8

heck yeah man, I love this 4 eyed cars.

A gt35 would be on the small side for a single on a 5.3 though

thanks dan.

Honestly im not sure what the car weighs right now.

Last year at Lsfest it weighed 3133 without me in it.

This year i have removed all the hvac stuff, removed firewall blanket, has the 8.50 dom steel cage, front tires are lighter by about 15lbs, hood is a little lighter and replaced driver seat with kirkey. I would guess it’s right at 3100 + my 190lbs self. I’d say most of the weight I took out was put right back in it with the cage. Car still has a full interior including back seat

mine was 3370 with me in it and i was weighing 240 when i weighed it. which im still on stock k member/arms front and rear, stock seats and stock hood/wheels.

I think i can get another hundred or so out of it easy but then cage and turbo setup will add most of that back in. i dont have rear seats and AC stuff either.

wow that’s not bad at all.

I don’t know where else I can save weight right now besides pulling the back seat out.

Was able to squeeze a 9.80 out of the car last night.

I really need to mess with my shock settings some. Car blows the tires off right at the 60’. At the end of the night I started with stranges recommendations on starting full soft in the front and full hard in the back. I think the front is coming up too fast possibly? Idk, I know nothing about suspension tuning. 2 out of 4 runs it spun. we’ll mess with it more and see what it does.

If anyone has any experience with strange singles on drag radials I’ll take any advice I can get.

As as long as it doesn’t rain Friday I’m racing it for the first time in a 28” dot tire class. Not expecting any first place trophy’s or anything. Will be glad just to be doing something besides test and tune.

I also bought tickets for a all out live event I’m going to run in on June 1st. Supposed to be broadcasted live on certain channels so check it out if you can. Just entering in the 10.00-10.99 class and turning my 2 step way down. I don’t have my nhra license to run in the faster class and it launches too inconsistent with my 2 step turned up to where I need it to run 9s.
So I’m just playing it safe.

as of right now it looks like Friday is going to be a wash out

there is a heads up no prep event that we are going to next Friday at kd dragway in south Webster, OH but I haven’t made my mind up if I’m going to race. I’d fit the street legal class their running but I have zero experience on a entirely unprepped track
