To weld the 9” ends on and weld the axle tubes it was going to cost 225 at a local chassis shop. That’s not including any other bracing. I planned on grabbing team z braces too and having them burned on also

Well...I have the stock 8.8 coming to me Friday but...I just bought another. Seems really well built and is going to save me some $. Paid $1000 for it, I think that was a hell of a deal considering what it has

3.27 ratio street gear with spool
-Team Z rear suspension kit.
-stock location adjustable shock bracket kit
-Moser 35 spline axles 5 x 4.5 bolt pattern 5/8" studs
-9" housing ends
-welded bracing
-trick flow gear cover
-Strange brakes and rotors
-u-joint and driveshaft yoke
-anti roll tabs and links

I think it will be worth the 13 hour round trip Sunday lol.

I couldn’t build one for anywhere close to that for that amount of money

Well yesterday was probably the worst possible day to pick to drive to upper Illinois. But after 15 hours of driving, the rear end is in my garage.

2 things on the rear. It’s been narrowed to about fox width and I knew from the pictures it has 5/8 studs. Going to have to get some new rear wheels. I really want to buy some rts’s to match, just don’t think I can swing the almost $800 in rear wheels right now since there is other important things I need so I can actually get the car running.

Cheapest option right now would be some racestar wheels and paint the face of the centers black. We’ll see. Going to order some wild rides battle boxes and strange 10 ways for the rear this Friday and get the rear under my car.

One last thing, getting rid of the eibach springs and going to run Fox v8 springs in the rear (already picket a pair up for $20) and 4 banger springs up front. Also on the fence about running the team z upper control arm relocation kit, considering selling to recoup some money

If you can swing it, I’d keep the team z uppers. They make a world of difference.

Man I’ve read mixed reviews on them. I take it you have had good luck with them? I can run them, and sell my Lakewood uppers I already have.

That rear also came with team z lowers but no coil buckets so those are going to get sold too.

Thanks. That's not bad I just don't know how much I want to spend on the rear. It's just a daily that I plan to abuse partially. I'm thinking a stock GT 8.8 will be fine for my needs. Car is coming along nicely btw. Excited to see it all finished up.

Since we had some nice weather I made a little bit of time to mess with this car.

Finished up my hotside and wrapped it. Also, this new rear is fox width and has 5/8 studs so I needed new rear wheels. They were $116 off on the pair threw jegs so I grabbed some matching rts’s. I also picked up some wild rides upper and lower battle boxes, v8 foxbody rear spring, 4 banger fronts and rear strange 10 way adjustable shocks. More pics to come as I make some more progress.

Rear end in today and and new wheels/Tires on. Offset worked out perfect. Eibachs out and fox v8 springs in with a coil cut off. Also got my battle boxes installed.

Ended up keeping the team z upper relocation kit.

Got the stock tank out last night. Messed with how I’m mounting my cell. Also cut off the mounting tabs on my cell. Still need to put my rear strange 10 ways on....

Love seeing that rear end under there with the tank gone

Didn’t get a lot done this weekend between buying a new truck and getting completely screwed over on a maximum motorsports 6pt cage. long story short I bought a used MM bolt in 6pt cage. Craigslist picture showed it in the car still, went ahead and paypaled dude money. Drove a hour and half one way to find out it’s been cut up in 3 spots when they took it out. They cut the damn main hoop! Typical Craigslist I guess

Anyways.. did start on getting my cell mounted. Don’t have a picture of the underside but I did end up getting the hole in the corner patched. Added support to the actual trunk floor and also for the cell.

Now off this 2am-2pm and back to my normal schedule at work so I’ll have some time to get some stuff done. Today I cut the coilover mounts off and bolted up some stock shock mounts. Also bolted up my strange rear shocks

Motor/tranny back out yesterday . Need to pull the pan to put my turbo return line fitting. While the motor is out, I’ll throw in my sloppy stage 2 cam and pack 1218 springs.

Should have time to bust out the cam today. I also need to fix 2 exhaust manifold bolt holes and order a couple adaptors and 90’s for the water pump. Right now the heater hose fittings are just inch or so away from the t4 flange on the hotside. Going to pull the oem fittings out, tap them for npt to -an fittings and throw a couple 90’s on it.

That's a sight I've seen too many times. All of my project cars from now on will have removable upper core supports. Makes the in/out/in/out process so much easier.

Looking good man
