One other quick request. Perhaps I am searching poorly, but I can't seem to find any good pictures of the installed systems. Any chance of posting a few? Like others, trying to make the decision between 2.5" and 3" in the very near future to take advantage of the Holleydays pricing.

The preview threads I created for the Hooker 64-67 A-body, 68-72 A-body,
G-body, SN95 Mustang and Fox Body Mustang all contain representative photos of the exhaust systems for those applications.

I should have been clear. I would be interested in 1st gen F-Body header back system pictures. Again, I may have poorly searched, but I haven't been able to find much picture-wise of the installed system. It's not a "need to have" thing, but it would be nice to see the packaging differences between the 2.5" and 3" systems.

I'm at home until next Monday, so I'll see if I can dig some up for that system then for you. I had some posted in the Hooker 1st-gen F-body swap system preview thread in the past and lost the images with the photobucket lock-out.

Thanks once again for your support for things like this. It was very much a large part of my decision to go with the Holley/Hooker products for my car.

Toddoky,
I hope your supervisor realizes how much you help us LS1tech-ers out.

I'm hoping his supervisor is a gearhead who follows LS1tech! Then he would also know how good Toddoky is...

I wanted to give you guys an update as to what is going on with the sound clips requested in this post. I've discussed your request for them to the Hooker unit manager and he's in agreement that we need to pull something together to support the Blackheart LS swap exhaust systems. To make that happen, were going to book some time to at the NCM racetrack here in Bowling Green to record our LS swapped Monte Carlo in the same method we do all our Blackheart late model systems. This will be much more thorough and in-depth than anything I can do on my own...I'll keep you posted.

Thanks as well for the update. That's great news, though I did end up just biting the bullet myself and buying the 3" system for my 68 Firebird over the black Friday weekend. The Holleydays sale coupled with Speedways's Cyber Monday sale was just too good to pass up.

Thank you for posting this! as soon as i saw the new episode i said i needed to post it up here. its to bad they always play some rock music over the exhaust when they do the Burnout at the end lol. I want to here that thing scream!

Did anyone notice they said they could not route the full exhaust since they had an aftermarket rear-end in the car?

maybe Tod could chime in on this? I plan to purchase the 3 inch system though i have a 9inch currie in the back of my car already.

The video clips show they just dumped the exhaust after the mufflers

The Hooker A-body exhaust systems are prototyped for direct compatibility with GM 10-bolt or 12-bolt rearends and the factory rear suspension set-up with stock or aftermarket control arms. Once you deviate beyond those parameters, you should plan on the possibility of the tailpipes needing custom modifications to fit your combination of rear suspension/fuel tank components.

I just went through both Abody threads and while there is a ton of good info there weren't more than a handful of pics of complete systems installed, and only one post showing the exhaust all the way to the end of the car (not counting the ones for wagons). It's likely there are some buried in build threads but I dunno. Here is the post in question, and it shouldn't be too much of a stretch to imagine it on 68-72s. I'm just wondering what I'd need to do to set it up so I could keep my chrome tips. Couldn't be that hard.

I can't see that being a huge undertaking to get those tips grafted onto the tailpipes of the Hooker system. They may not terminate in the exact same inboard/outboard location, but it would close enough that the aesthetic appearance would be the same.

If the ends terminate on the 68+ like they do on the 67- then I could just cut them at a different angle and weld the tips on no problem

I have a 9 inch in my 67, which is narrowed 1-1/2 inches from stock per side (I mini tubbed mine). I have viking coil overs on it, and I have the 3 inch blackheart exhaust, running in the location it calls for. It is tight, but it fits...
