Default *Project Fuego SS*1995 Impala SS gets junkyard 5.3 Budget build

I have a 95 SS I've owned for about 7 months now. Traded an old suburban for it. Car had a small engine fire that destroyed the wiring harness vacuum lines and underwood plastic. Interior was complete just a little dirty. No rips in the seats and door panels were complete. thats rare with these cars. I got all the original paperwork window sticker dealership warranty info service records etc. Awesome find!

so fast forward 3 months i cleaned up under the hood. installed new accessories new harness and got her running. car is my daily for now due to an accident in my other car. by the time i get ready to swap ill have another vehicle but for now she's the daily.

I've never been a fan of the lt1. i have had a few b bodies in the past and had similar issues with them. right now i have new msd opti msd coil new plugs wires icm. fuel system replaced new lines new tank new pump refurbished injectors new regulator new maf and it still runs like ****. i have a steady surge while idling at a light. sometimes it skips while driving. engine feels sluggish. not going to throw anymore more money at it. its drivable as is so i deal with it till the swap.

ok so this is going to be a super budget build as I'm a mechanic so i will be doing everything myself. plan on getting a 5.3 from the local yard or 6.0 if I'm lucky. I've done a few swaps before on ohs trucks and a few gbodies but this will be my bbody.

so first things first.
wiring!

i kept the burnt harness that came with the car so i started off tonite removing everything i won't need. i plan on marrying the ls and original harness and re pinning the ls icm. want to keep it neat and look as factory as possible.

thats as far as i got. i made a list of the pins i saved from the pcm. and i missing any? any i won't need?

i plan on keeping a/c and running stock fans.

I know what you mean about the Lt1.....you love them or hate them.... I bought a 95 impala brand new back in 95 and few years later i had the car going 10.80's with a 150 shot but i learned to hate EFI......Now my last 2 Ls motor are converted to carburetor and love it.....that was back around 99.......

Couple years ago i bought a vary nice 96 Caprice and i'm going 454ci Lsx with carburetor and front mount distributor....
