its the best feeling!

the push button was CHEAP and easy to wire.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074QKRY4G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074QKRY4G/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

We grabbed key on from the AC controls pigtail. the toggle switch gives the key on signal to the ECU up which activates the fuel pump relay. Starter button only energized when the toggle is and the P/N switch on the shifter is actuated (in those two gears). which sends 12v to a relay under hood which kicks the starter over. so the key is still providing me SOME antitheft and people cant just hop in it and power up the ecu and start it without the key.

the biggest idea behind this was if **** gets hairy on track and i see a fire or something else i can just slap a hand down at the dash and shut the motor/fuel pump off without having to fiddle with the key and possibly lock the column up on me.

That is a great idea and looks cool too. I can't believe how cheap it is either. That's awesome man. What did you end up doing for the cooling system?

Im still working it out. a swivel thermostat housing and the trimmed truck lower hose got that side down and i have some couplers and reducers coming from pegasus racing friday.

weather has been off and on for months, lots of rain and im working on it in my driveway.

this weekend im redoing the exhaust exit and adding the O2 bung, doing the throttle cable and finishing wiring up the oil pressure sending unit. did some discovery work and found adding the OPSU to the 99-02 PCM is really easy just add pins to blue:7 for +5, blue:63 ground, and red:58 for signal and youll have Oil pressure measured in the ECU. youlll need the 3 wire OPSU and a pigtail as well.

Bit of a snafu with the order from pegasus, i forgot one adapter and usps has been ridiculous to us lately. 2 weeks for the first order, 2 weeks for the second order. finally have everything now but i got the OPSU tested, making 30psi at idle, thatll work for me! going to effort the cooling stuff this week after work and hopefully i will be able to test drive this weekend.

got the cooling hoses all lined out yesterday and filled mostly with water, need to burp it tonight and work on getting the throttle cable installed. SO CLOSE TO DRIVING! i just only have like an hour of light when i get home to work on it which sucks but its what it is. Going to do what i can so i can drive it this weekend. Once i know the trans works ill get a trans cooler on the way and i should be able to hit the track first of the year when they reopen after xmas.

That’s sick can’t wait to see some rowdy burnout videos haha. What did you do for a throttle cable? My stock 01 v6 cable worked perfect on an ls2 intake with a truck throttle body. Just used the mount from the v6 and welded it on a holddown.

i didnt have a throttle cable with my car, i ordered what was said was a v6 one on ebay but i think its a GT cable because its way short and was at like a 45* angle from the throttle body. I ended up buying a lokar LS swap cable. i got it mostly installed last night, just need to do a few more things to lock it into place completely. setting the length of the inner cable being one of those.

i tried to burp it last night but the battery was dead from sitting in the cold so ive got a charger on it and should be able to do that tonight. with any luck (which i havent had much of lately) ill be able to get those two things done today.

Congrats man, that first drive is a great feeling isn’t it?

my first drive I was scared to death lol. Car came straight off the dyno to my trailer then the track. First time I drove it was wot down the track, didn’t know what to expect from it.

that first drive is rewarding and frightening all at the same time. I was expecting something to break the entire time I couldn’t imagine ripping it down the track the very first time I ever drove it haha. Congrats man! Mine drives like a stock mustang with 3x times the power you’ll constantly have a grin from now on.

Yea it was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. This was mainly to test the trans and make sure it shifted. Ordering a trans cooler and wide band for it on Tuesday and once those are here and in its getting loaded on a trailer and going to the track for tuning

Ahh that's right. Ford DID put some nice wheels on Mustangs for a while! They LOOK like American Torq-Thrusts, as good as, anyway!

Need to order a slip yoke and conversion u joint for driveshaft and replace the output shaft seal. Fuel pump in tank and up on the chassis is next.

Car looks a lot better with the bullits. I did think it would have been awesome if you kept the 6 banger wheels on it with some drag radials on the back though. Would have been the ultimate sleeper.
