Anyone tried Holley's OEM 255 EFI modules?
I hate to be the "Who's tried this part....." guy, but: I just today discovered Holley has a line (PN 12-30x) of 255lph OE style fuel tank modules that allow the use of an in-tank pump with the factory old style 'sending unit'. They regulate it to 58psi and include a (albeit small) hydramat.
Anyone used/have this part in their car?
I'm doing your standard LS1 install but my plan thus far has been to build a recession plate and chop the OE 4th gen bucket assembly down to fit in the tank (I know the 5th gens are shallower but I'm trying to just use the 4th gen style of 'return'.
Also my plan was a bucket-style to prevent fuel surge. I know Spectra sells OE style modules that have a electric pump/wiring but I don't believe they're regulated and they just use the standard sock.
This Holley system looks like a no-brainer but my only concerns are:
1. Will this included hydramat live up to a bucket-style for preventing fuel surge?
2. What are my options for a 'return line' with this setup. Weld a fitting on the side of the tank?
3. Would the AC Delco pump fit down in the hole the same as this one. (Want to ensure they have the same dimensions incase I replace the Holley pump)
....that was alot.....
Thanks,
Kyle

I thought I've heard the the fuel mat has a service life. IIRC it would last only a few years
It would be a very interesting alternative for swaps if it lasted for say, 10 yrs or longer.

I would bet the service life amounts to the time it takes to clog with you usual tank debris...

Which leads to my next thought. Would I go with hydramat in a near-new non-baffled tank? No, I would try for baffled, or a new style module in a modded tank.
Which makes me wonder if their 19-144 (and other nos.) Sniper tank is baffled like an EFI model tank.
Now how about a sniper that takes a late model module, Holley?

I'm thinking I'll likely still go my original route. But this was a really good product to come out with on Holley's part. Especially the internal regulating. I think this system's likely gonna do well in sales.
Thanks guys, Kyle
