Default Fuel Pump Fitting Help

Hey guys,

so I ask out assembling the tank for my Nova this morning, but have a question about the fitting to the pump. I went with the Tank Inc. fuel tank and their in tank pump. I’m goin. To run AN fittings, so I bought adapter for the pump outlets/inlets.

Are these fittings supposed to screw all the way in?

No, they look to pipe thread on the pump end so just stop when they are tight.

Also with pipe thread you want to use sealant. Either tape or paste type.

Make sure whatever sealant you use it is compatible with gasoline.

I used Permatex high temp thread sealant. Says it’s good for fuel fittings, so should be good. Thanks for the confirmation guys. Now I can finally get to assembling this car.

I also have a Tanks Inc. tank and am curious, My pump also had a vent and so did the tank itself. Their kit came with a barbed y to connect them so I did. Is your setup similar? I’ve seen pics where people blocked off the vent on the tank itself for some reason. I know efi needs good venting.

Yup, same here. I am planning on using the y fitting that came with it. Just to be on the safe side.
