I was not aware of that. I probably would have gone with an off the shelf solution if I had known that sooner. Ehhh, it has been fun designing this brace and I got to meet some super cool guys at the machine shop. Plus it give me an excuse to break out the welder. Thanks for the info.

Quick update. I picked up the pieces for my trans mount today from the machine shop. They fit together like a glove! Now I just need to fit the pieces up and weld everything together. Unfortunately my garage is completely full of junk as we are currently trying to sell our house. Hopefully I can clear some space and get everything welded up since this has to be done in order to move the car.

On the gearing front, the 1st gen CTS-V T56 has a 2.97:1 1st gear. The car comes from the factory with 3.73 rear end gears, so that's just over 11:1 total. First gear is certainly short, but it's not obnoxiously so.

gearing aside...just A/B test a G37 vs a camaro with a tr6060....hands down the nissan tranny is the better of the two as far as shift feel.

Thanks for the interest! Updates will slow a little as my wife and I are in the process of selling our house and building another. However the good news is this move will get me a detached 2 car garage to eventually get the BMW wrapped up.

Well in between getting our house sold, and a long list of honey do’s I was able to get the trans brace finally welded up. It turned out great, and fits well under the car. Now I can get the car down on four wheels and ready for the move.

Ok,, I'm probably missing something ,, maybe its just the pic, but isn't the return to radiator(Thermostat housing connection)
supposed to be the high connection and the suction to the low connection on the radiator?
I know the LS family is "reverse flow" but isn't that only in the engine?

Alright quick update. We sold our house, and I have had to move the car in to temp storage.

The good news is in three months she will find a new home in here own detached garage (see below)!

Once I can get back to working on the car this will be my game plan.

1. Make bracket for power steering resivour, and plumb the power steering system.
2. Install headers
3. Cut the trans tunnel and install a Gktech shifter relocation kit.
4. Plumb fuel system.
5. Install drive shaft
6. Complete Exhaust
7. Install stand alone body harness
8. Plumb Brakes
9. Paint and body BS

Haha I have wanted one forever and this is one of the reasons we are moving. The wife is tired of me always taking over the garage with my projects and she has to park outside.

Just a quick update. Since the car is in storage, and the house/garage won't we done for another two months I have decided to fill my time with designing a low rider Radio Flyer wagon for my daughter. Thought it would be something cool to make, and use to pull her around in at car shows.
