That’s with the junk out of the trunk and about 1/8th tank of fuel, according to the corner scales we used to set up the coil overs. 53/47

Merry Christmas to Daniel indeed!

I've been searching for this Fox coupe for almost 3 yrs. In that amount of time I was able to save up a nice stash to make this project happen. I looked at coupes that ranged in price from $1500 all the way up to $14,500. None of the higher priced ones were really all that nice and they had engines/transmissions that I was going to get rid of anyway. Still, if I had found the "right" car with an engine/trans I would've bought it.

In the end, a nice roller showed up in San Antonio for $1500. I saved a lot of money that went to the brand new LS376 and Holley computer.

What amazed me was how much value their was when I parted out the 5.0L stuff in mine. Sold every bit of it from rhe bell housing forward - netted almost $3500 to help offset the new crate LS3.

Wow! I'm really surprised that you were able to get this much for it but I'm happy that you were able to get it.

I've still got a perfectly good 5.0 and T5 in my rust damaged (from living near the beach in north Florida) 1991 GT. I'm pulling the 5-lug, 4-wheel Cobra disc brakes and 8.8 rear out of it and putting all of it into the coupe. I've tried looking on craigslist to see what a good running 5.0 goes for. Doesn't seem like there are too many of them for sale and when I do see them, they aren't priced very high. Almost like no one wants them any more . I haven't researched the worth of my perfect functioning T5.

"....for it...." --- to be clear, "it" was completely parted out. You'd never get that much trying to sell the complete engine. And it was all good stuff - ported Explorer intake, AFR heads, FRPP manifolds, aftermarket maf/throttle body, Buddy Rawls custom roller cam, etc., etc. The 150,000 mile forged piston OEM shortblock sold for $250. Go figure.

Oh. Okay. That makes sense. Those AFR heads are definitely worth good money.

I wanted to let everyone know that I did buy the Holley EFI 550-611 Terminator from a seller on Amazon for $2,679.26. I got the order placed in late December (arrived about 2 weeks ago) before Holley's prices went up. The price of this EFI unit is now $2745 from the same seller. Unfortunately, I didn't order my Hooker Blackheart headers and they've gone up by about the same amount .

This is just a general question but what are you guys doing for gauges? I know that I can buy the pricey Holley units but I've already spent a small fortune on this car and if it's not too much trouble, I'd like to use the stock Fox gauges. Is this a possibility or am I going to have to go aftermarket? I'm open to anything but saving some coin on this part of the project would be nice.
