If you want a t56, just buy the magnum. No mods to the trans, only tunnels mods. I just switched from an F-body style to a close ratio magnum. Love the magnum!

Thanks for the input. So other than the flywheel having 8 bolts on the gen 5 motors, everything else should work? So could I run say a 2010 Camaro flywheel and the newer tranny onto that? That Magnum does look good and rated to 700 pounds feet of torque. Just kicking around ideas in case a setup comes on the market at a very good price.

2010 Camaro flywheel = 6 bolts
2017 Camaro flywheel = 8 bolts
2010 flywheel no workee on Gen V engine, unless your last post has a typo.

My crank has 6 bolts so I know the LT1 version with 8 bolts will not work. What I want to know is if an earlier 6 bolt Camaro flywheel will work with the clutch and tranny from the 2017. Chevy says it is an improved version over the previous 6 speed. Once I get this Cutlass running I plan to try several different transmissions down the line including a powerglide that I have.

The T56 Magnum is a TR6060 (did they change these for 2017?) but made for swaps. The 2017 trans also has a shifter you have to deal with and has a fixed output yoke. These are issues you have to solve and they are not trivial.

I agree that for about the same money, the T56 Magnum is an easier solution. The Magnum is also an easier fit into a-bodies.

If you want an inexpensive clutch, just get the LUK LS7 kit for under $300. It drives smooth and will hold decent power.
