Pin Green 16 and the VSS

Hi guys, I'm still puzzling over the VSS, cruise control and Pin 16.

I'm a little stuck as the company I sent my 2006/7 PCM to for recalibration messed up every time I asked them to work on it. My vehicle thinks it's doing 11mph when in reality it's doing 33mph. They now won't tell me what they've done. I'm currently trying to save up for HPTuners so I can have a look and calibrate it myself.

I can't get cruise control to work. I don't know if it's just the vss being so far out or if there's something else I've missed.

In the meantime I've been wondering about what Pin 16 on the green connector "4wd Low signal" actually does.
Does anyone know for sure?

I'd assume it allows for different gearshift points on an A/T but as I'm running a manual at the moment, that's of no benefit.

I wonder if it also alters the throttle mapping? The throttle seems very sensitive, almost hair trigger, great for a Vette on a twisty road, less good for a 2 1/2 tonne offroader negotiationg a tricky section.
If all it does is alter the gear mapping or allow a light to be illuminated, I'll leave it. but if it does alter the throttle mapping that would be a very useful feature and I'll wire a switch in.

I'm assuming the PCM requires a switched earth on that wire?

Anybody?

I may have to resort to connecting a switch and seeing what happens..

On the cruise control, there is a minimum speed that will allow it to engage.
What VSS are you using, did you add the NO/NC brake switch. What about the clutch pedal position switch?

Hi, I'm using an ABS sensor. it uses a 60 tooth wheel. The tyre is a 285/75/16 and the diff is 3.54:1 The people I sent the PCM to were supposed to calibrate the VSS settings for that but messed up. A "manual" setup of 17 teeth on the prop would've worked out about right by my calcs..
Both the CHMSL and TCC brake switches are connected as is the CPP which is pull to +12v.

I've also tried getting up to what the PCM believes to be 30mph and trying to engage cruise - still doesn't work

Taken from LT1swap.com

PIN 16 on green connector
4WD Low Signal (KEEP IF USING STOCK TRANSFER CASE IN A 4WD APPLACTION, WITH VSS ON OUTPUT OF TRANSFER CASE..

You are not using a transfercase vss so you do not need it.
