Default starting a gbody build

just gettin started on a 79 malibu i drug out of a field. ive always wanted one of these cars but they are getting to the point in southern wv where im located that they arent generally hard to find, but theyre usually kinda hard to pay for. luckilly, i scored this one for $250 and actually drove it on the trailer! promptly followed by driving it off of the trailer and atarting to take it apart. lol.

in the 8.8 im gonna build a jig from the stock 7.5 and transfer all the mounts over to a narrowed explorer rear so ill have a true bolt in 8.8 with 31 spline axles and rear discs and be able to tuck a 10" wheel

Pics like the above always make me think, "I wonder how long this rear would last behind 600HP?.... All at once?"

a 7.5 gm probably wouldnt last one rip. a stock exploder 8.8 would last a couple years, a built one probably forever...all depending on your tires and launch
