Default Silverado 1500 swap

How much has to be changed to put an LQ9 into a 2004 1500 2WD currently running a 4.3 V6 and auto tranny?

Local wrecker has an LQ9 out of a 2004 Escalade with 183 Kilometers on it......that's about 115K miles.

Complete with all accessories, ECM, throttle pedal and complete harness for $1500..........almost too good to pass up.

Tranny too? Better if you can get both engine and tranny together. Even if it's extra, as you ARE getting a good deal. Get the engine mounts if you can. That would make it a bolt-in deal.

That's a fair deal up in these parts, but you will need to do something about the transmission, not really worthwhile to convert the Escalade 4L60E 4WD trans to 2WD. You can futz around with bolts, crank spacers and flexplates to mate up your V6 4L60E to the LQ9, but it won't last unless you drive like your aunt's grandma's sister, you will need an updated LS 4L60E or better yet a 4L80E. Other than that, everything should be plug and play with a rework of the fuel lines.
