2009 Colorado Factory 5.3L to 6.2L Hi all. Building up a stock LS3 engine from a core L9H (L92) to upgrade the LH8 5.3L which is in the truck now (runs perfect). All ears for anybody that has done the same. |
Talk about a sleeper! If you play your cards right and keep the 6.2 looking as stock as possible, that will be one stealthy truck! You gonna use the 6.2 truck intake manifold? It's supposed to flow pretty well, making the same power as the LS3 intake. From the outside very few will know the difference in appearances between the 5.3 and the 6.2. |
Should be virtually plug and play (pray). My Cougar engine started life as a LH8. Andrew |

I'm hoping for plug and play. Will install O2 sensor port at the Y pipe junction to dial in future tuning. That's it, otherwise stock. 4 door, 4x4. May even take the V8 badges off the sides. :) Weight is 4100lbs so 900lbs more than the Corvette the LS3 is normally in. So, I won't totally have the same acceleration, and zero handling in comparison, but +130hp should for sure return the fun of driving it. |
