Default Ls3 swap Mercedes w202

Hi

I live in Sydney Australia and doung an ls3 swap to a Mercedes w202. I need help and recommendations for engine mounts. Thanks

I don't know of anyone that makes a kit or mounts for this swap -- you'll likely have to drop the motor into place and fabricate from there. The big question on many of these Merc swaps is likely to be -- what to do about that pesky/big recirculating ball steering box/linkage which always seems to be in the way when people go to swap an LS into a Mercedes.

I've got a 202. I'm swapping into a w108 rn. I got mounts from Amazon, and welded to frame after removing the originals. The Amazon ones have poly bushings.

I agree. You can't waste too much time. Just have to remove everything from the bay, and sit it in there. Thing about recirculation ball is that it steers from 'back' of the hub close to the firewall. Would have to get a rack to match, or just send your manifolds to the front, under and back.

I have a non completed swap but the mock up engine and trans are in there:
1. I don't see how you can get a driver's side manifold to dump to the rear due to the steering recirc ball. You have to use a passenger side flipped on the driver's side so you might as well run a turbo!
2. Need to use a GTO oil pan and modify it.
3. Mounts are the "hot rod" style mounts or corvette style mounts.
4. 4l60e hits the inside "frame" rail around the servo area, so you will have to cut a chunk out and weld in steel plate.

5. You will need a starter that tucks up tight to the block, MSD has one, there is another. This is due to the steering pivot arm.

You almost want to solid mount the engine because all of the steering components sit very tight to the LS engine.

Steering can be offset, like I'm doing in my w108 build

thanks for everyone's suggestions they are great. i do have a GTO front sump, and will be using a 6l80e trasnmission. as for the mounts i have found the following on summit racing

They are the fluid filled motor mounts. But there are poly style also. The existing merc pads may work.

You will have to modify those DD mounts also or make your own.

Sorry for reviving a dead thread, but I was just curious if a dry sump would clear better and require no modifications for the pan?

i did test fit with LS# and i used a front sump and it worked perfectly. Note you have to get a sway bare from c280 to fit.
