Default 996 Porsche ls1 throttle, convert car to cable, or convert 99 ls1 to DBW?

The last swap I did with the 996 I ran a cable, and used the ls1 throttle body. I like the simplicity of the cable, but not the length, so I am considering converting the engine to drive by wire. Do you 996 guys think it’s worth it? What parts do I need to convert a 99 ls1 to DBW?

I used one in my second V8 914, the units are early DBW units that uses a TAC module. Its a bit fuzzy but worked great for me.

The Camaro LS1 was cable, but the Corvette LS1 was drive by wire. Use a Vette ECM and a DBW TB, and you should be good

You would also need to use the matching TAC.

That looks like a good option, but looking at the prices of those 2 items without ecu is $500. I can see spending $800 or more after finding a throttle body. Another member offered a 2002 Escalade ecu pedal tac and harness for $300, but the truck harness will definately need a complete rerouting. The cable sounds better by the minute
