any advice on what eletric fans to run ?
 
im having a bit of issues finding a good fan that will keep the car cool enough. Its a street car so yes it will see traffic and yes its miami hot weather! the radiator i bought is this one

Core Width (in): 21.000 in.

Core Height (in): 15.470 in.
now i had a pair of SPAL fans but they were 12" which obviously are too big for the radiator itself! and i thought maybe the Taurus fan but those are even bigger!

any help?!

its for a 240sx 5.3 turbo.

I would have to measure the exacts, but I have a ford focus fan from a focus with A/C. Its dual fan and about that size. It cools my 5.3 well enough. They are kind of popular for ls conversions i guess. Cheap, moves a lot of air. They're a 50 amp draw with both on...

Found this...You could probably trim the plastic tabs off. I drilled holes in the shroud towards the inside and use the ties that go through the radiator and pull it tight to it on mine.

You could get two 10" spal fans... But all the dual units at going to be at least 21"-23" wide. You could let it hang over an inch on the sides...cant imagine it would hurt it.

Flexalite 295. PWM is there so all you have to do it supply it power and set your temps. Can add switches or a/c input as well.
Never mind, looks like it's an inch taller and wider than your rad.

That's a very tough size to find enough cfm for a v8. I've been extremely happy with derale fans. Maybe look into a 14" or 15" and make your own custom fit shroud. Here's a nice 14" two speed derale. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/der-18214/overview/

its funny you put that fan, because i was looking at that fan! lol. i mean most fan for "v8"s are 2000 cfms!

Too bad those focus fans won't fit, I think they flow about 2500 cfm...I've seen a couple of the C3 Corvette guys use them.

So usually thats what the cfm should be like 2k is good enough?

Generally you want about 2500cfm for a V8, but I have heard people use the 2100 derale and it cools 420hp with ease. I have the derale dual 13" on my chevelle which move 4000cfm and it's a bit much. It can drop my temp from fan on to fan off in about 2 minutes even with the AC on.

I would consider the C7 fan. It has the PWM controller built in, which is awesome with the Holley EFI. The mating connector is available from Spal. The fan is rated as 600watts and will cool awesome. Oh and it is about $200.

Yeah...I have the dual fan "Windstar" module on my wagon...a little bit over 4400 cfm...never had the second fan come on. (They do sound like a Piper Cub on take off if I turn them both on at once!!)

Figure out how to fit Derale 16925's.....no cooling issues any more, even with AC and an iron block, they work awesome.

Since you are going with OEM EFI, the C7 fan is not a good option. The C7 fan requires a PWM- input from the ECU because it already has a built in speed controller. This would be possible to do if you were going with the Holley EFI systems (some GenIV ECUs also have PWM output for the fans).

I used this fan in a bunch of engine swaps (2jz, rb25, sr20, lsx)
new from ebay very inexpensive

The key to making a powerful set of electric fans work properly is to fully vacuum-seal the shroud to the radiator so the air is forced to go through the rad.
I take the rad out and cut up some flexible heat-shield materials (basically free reflective from junkyard, pliable, insulating material) to seal the edges. You have to get creative when trying to fit weird fans to weird radiators.

edit: Also I just remember why 'that' fan. Yeeaaars ago on zilvia.net somebody flow tested this fan and about ten other popular fans, including famous taurus fan and Flex-A-L220. And these Altima units came out on top, with taurus next in line.
