T-56 s14 help
My transmission has gone bad in my ls1 240sx. I bought this vehicle swapped. Can the tranny be dropped from under without dropping the engine I just got the exhaust off and I am waiting for my light to recharge.any help would be awesome.

I guess it depends on how close the engine is to the firewall. Can you get to the top bolts? When the trans crossmember is removed does the engine tilt down and how far does it go till it hits the firewall?

My swap is in a Z31, but I am able to get everything unbolted in the car. I'm going to assume that the Z and S engine bays are somewhat similar.
At worst, you can always undo the engine mounts to get more tilt out of the assembly. You could even hoist the engine and pull it forward a little if you have room.

I manned up and drop the cross member. Looks like the previous owner skipped on some bolts so it might make my life easier. I wasn't going to bed unless I tried. Thanks for the responses. I gotta buy a trans jack tomorrow and get this bitch out.
